The two wonderful architects from the University of Kansas have now met with us on four occasions at the Grinter Chapel. Included in the first phase of the renovation will be the kitchen. They have provided us with two options for the design of the kitchen. Please click here to see the two options.
The two options are both for a Catering Kitchen not a Food Preparation Kitchen. The options have different layouts for the location of the appliances and service carts. Since it will be only a catering kitchen there will be no stove, cooking ovens, range or ice maker, etc. This will significantly decrease the risk of a fire or someone slipping on liquids in this area.
Please click here to see the vision of how the Kitchen could be arranged. This is the second revision of the colors we are considering. We want it to be bright, clean and inviting. There is an entrance from the parking lot on the south side of the kitchen to permit easy access for catering vehicles providing food and beverages.
